We are currently in the middle of doing an overhaul of the site, with some cool new features getting added. The reason for this is because after 17 years of trading as a bricks and mortar business, Rare Records will be closing it's shop front on the 28th of february 2010 to concentrate solely with the online business. We thank everybody that has come into the shop front and supported us over these years, we have met tonnes of great people and we will miss this interaction dearly. It's definitely not the end for R.R, so don't think you are gonna get rid of us that easily. Watch this space for new and exciting things happening all the time. Also if you want to join our mailing list, please do so by sending us an email to the Enquiries address with the header 'mailing list' and we will make sure you don't miss out on anything.

2010 means another new year, the beginning of a new decade, and some major changes to the way Rare Records will continue to operate
Another year is almost over, and as 2009 drifts towards it's end 2010 delivers a new decade and some major changes to the way we at Rare Records will be operating. From the 1st of March 2010 we will cease to inhabit our current shopfront in St. Kilda and up-load all the store's contents on-line.
This means that from the 1st of March we will be trading solely on-line, to focus not only on improving our website but offering a higher quality of service at a price competitive with major retailers - without the ridiculously expensive overheads of the current shopfront.
Don't consider this change to be as final as an "ending", but rather a means to continue functioning and to still provide you with our comprehensive database of old and new rarities from around the globe.
Besides the obvious change in location, you - as a customer - will be entitled to no less from our on-line store, and maybe even more! With now over 60,000 listed items and the continuing ability to track down almost ANYTHING it is you're after - and we do mean ANYTHING. We won't fail in providing you with the most up-to-date account of our products for your shopping pleasure and ease. Complete with a thorough listing and details of all our current products.
If you have not previously ordered with us or signed-up to our on-line mailing list in-store, then we may not have your details and encourage you to please send us your name - and other information, such as the bands you collect, are interested in, etc... - in order to make sure you don't miss out on everything that's new and the excellent specials we will have on offer throughout the year.
For our international and interstate customers nothing will change in the way you receive your goods. We do, however, look forward to gradually changing the site throughout the year to make each visit easier, efficient and more exciting.
